PHOTO RELEASE: Sarah Godlewski Celebrates National Teacher Appreciation Week

This morning, State Treasurer and candidate for U.S. Senate Sarah Godlewski celebrated National Teacher Appreciation Week by bringing teachers breakfast to thank them for all they do.

“Growing up with parents who were teachers shaped who I am today — I learned the value of hard work and public service by watching my parents go the extra mile to make sure their students were set up for success,” said Sarah Godlewski. “Everyone needs someone in their corner, and teachers have their students’ backs. I hope everyone will join me in thanking Wisconsin teachers for the work that they do in supporting our kids!”

Sarah Godlewski is the daughter of two public school teachers, and properly funding public education and teachers is a top priority for Sarah. During the pandemic, Sarah oversaw a first-ever special distribution of $5.25 million that addressed the remote learning challenges facing students and teachers. Sarah also knows that teachers aren’t paid enough for the hard work they do, especially amid rising costs across the board. That’s why she released a plan to increase Title I funding so that teachers get paid a living wage, regardless of where they teach. Her plan also calls for expanding student loan forgiveness programs for rural teachers.
