Milwaukee Pride Parade, 2022
2022 has been one of the worst years on record for anti-LGBTQ+ laws, particularly targeting the trans community. The rights of LGBTQ+ Americans, including the families who love them, continue to be undermined by Republican-led state legislatures and courtrooms across the country.
When it comes to supporting LGBTQ+ youth and the families who love them, Sarah has been a strong advocate for creating safe school environments, expanding access to health care and mental health services, investing in affordable housing, and more.

Pridetober Fest in Milwaukee, 2021
Everywhere she goes, Sarah hears about the urgent need to address the mental health crisis in Wisconsin. It’s why she released a comprehensive plan that focuses on expanding access to behavioral health services and providers.
Sarah recognizes that LGBTQ+ people experience unique mental health challenges. Here in Wisconsin, we have already seen cities like Madison, Milwaukee, and Sarah’s hometown of Eau Claire ban the incredibly abusive and harmful practice of conversion therapy. In the Senate, Sarah will co-sponsor the Therapeutic Fraud Prevention Act to ban conversion therapy nationwide.
